The problem was solved as follows: in the standard Ubuntu repositories using packages libisofs and libisofs-dev version 0.6.26, they need to remove and download the same package version 0.6.32 from the repository for Debian6. With these packages I compile everything ok.

Ok that makes sense, strange that Ubuntu would have an out-of-date library though. I've removed the call it was complaining about in r1114 so it should work with the old libisofs now.
