okay I have an ubuntu 7.10 64bit system and I got stuck at ./configure

at the part
[code]checking for PACKAGE... configure: error: Package requirements ( gtk+-2.0 esound libpng ) were not met:

No package 'esound' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables PACKAGE_CFLAGS
and PACKAGE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

I already installed the esound package but still it sais I don't have it..
I have a really common distro installed pretty recently and I figured that it might be helpfull to post what one sees trying to get this emu started

i had this same problem on my system when compiling. I'm running Ubuntu Feisty.

Following nkeynes' advise, i installed the libesd0-dev package through synaptic and re-ran ./configure which seemed to fix the issue.
