That's truly strange.

Either there's some very weird memory corruption going on, or the compiler/debugger is confused. It might be worth rebuilding with optimization off (CFLAGS=-g3 in src/Makefile, make clean all), and see if you get different results? If it behaves similarly again, could I also get you to do a
(gdb) disas
and/or
(gdb) disas gl_display_render_buffer
after the bt?

You'll probably need to do something like
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/X11R6/lib -Wl,-dylib_file,/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib:/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib" ./configure

which (I think) should get it to build cleanly for you. However I doubt it's going to work any better than the last version (nothing's changed in the rendering code between 0.8 and 0.8.1)

Gah... Ok I finally know what's going on here (I think ) ( explains it fairly well). I'll fix this properly, but you should (hopefully) be able to get it to work with

CFLAGS=-g3 -mstackrealign

(It didn't work for me with -O2, ymmv etc).

Actually forget the previous post - just grab the latest subversion - should configure, build, and work out of the box now.
